We had the absolute honor of designing for our amazing couple, Madi and Paul, for their spring wedding at La Venta Inn—and to say they inspired us is a total understatement.
When Madi first reached out, she shared her vision for a wedding that felt modern, vibrant, and filled with artistic spirit. She dreamed of a Matisse-inspired wedding design where the flowers weren’t just an accent—they were the main event. Needless to say, we were immediately obsessed.
Madi envisioned a bright, playful palette of oranges, yellows, blues, lavenders, greens, and pinks. She wanted the florals to feel sculptural yet whimsical, like an abstract painting brought to life. No tight, stuffy arrangements here—just bold, joyful movement, intentional shapes, and a whole lot of color magic.

The ceremony backdrop, overlooking the stunning ocean views, featured a copper chuppah with flowers exploding from the structure with a mixture of flower garlands, hanging amaranthus, delphinium, orchids bedazzled with rhinestones and perals, specialty gerber daisies.
For the reception, Madi and Paul kept things effortlessly chic. Guest tables featured three different sculptural arrangements playing off the color palette — each one celebrating a single bloom or a surprising color pairing. The result was a tablescape that felt modern, editorial, and uniquely them.
Everywhere you looked, the energy of their day was contagious. From the vibrant floral palette to the laid-back elegance of the venue, everything reflected their personalities: artistic, joyful, and full of life.
One of the best parts about designing for a La Venta Inn wedding is how naturally the venue lends itself to bright, colorful design. The historic Spanish-style architecture, ocean breeze, and terracotta rooftops created the perfect backdrop for all this color to shine without feeling overwhelming. Madi’s vision fit the space like a glove.
At the end of the day, what made this wedding so special wasn’t just the incredible florals (though yes, we’re biased)—it was how much heart and thought Madi and Paul poured into every detail. From their color choices to their playlist to their handwritten vows, their wedding was a true work of art—and we were so honored to play a part in it.
